Doctors Imaging Group, a Florida based radiology practice with locations in Palatka and Gainesville, is notifying customers about a major data breach that occurred nearly one year ago.
According to the company's data breach notice, hackers successfully accessed Doctors Imaging Group’s network between November 5 and November 11, 2024. The attackers copied files from the compromised systems. The organization then spent months working to determine the full scope of the theft and identify affected individuals.
The internal investigation concluded in late August 2025. The healthcare provider has since informed the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) that the incident impacted more than 171,000 individuals.
Stolen Patient Information
Doctors Imaging Group confirmed that the hackers successfully obtained a wide range of sensitive patient information. This compromised data includes:
- Personally Identifying Information: Name, address, and date of birth.
- Financial and Account Identifiers: Social Security number, financial account number, patient account number, and medical record number.
- Health Data: Health insurance information, medical treatment information, and medical claim information.
It remains unclear if the organization was targeted by a ransomware group, as no known cybercrime gang has claimed responsibility for the attack. While the number of affected individuals is substantial, it is not uncommon for healthcare data breaches to impact a large population.
